Most women have issues of leg pains during pregnancy, these causes a lot of discomfort to the women. It comes with form of tightening of the muscles and sudden pain that comes mostly at night. this will happen when the woman is either going to sleep or when she wakes up to go to the bathroom, and in many cases, it may be seen that the leg pain during pregnancy will happen three times in a week.

The common causes of leg pain during pregnancy is caused by the increase in the volume of the blood in the body of the woman, leg pain during pregnancy can also be caused by lack of some nutrients and mineral imbalance in the woman body. If there is retention of fluids in the body this may lead to leg pain during pregnancy. When the woman lacks proper blood circulation that is highly important during pregnancy then there is a possible occurrence of leg pains during pregnancy, In the same way, the feotus may put a lot of pressure on the woman’s blood vessels hence leading to high blood pressure which may lead to leg pain during pregnancy.when an expectant woman eats some types of food that may not be in agreement with the pregnancy, then this may lead to an increased case of the leg pain during pregnancy. these food types are commonly known to cause dehydration to the woman.

Eat foods with calcium, magnesium, omega 3 foods are also helpful in reducing leg pain during pregnancy. Some calf stretches immediately before going to bed and when she wakes up before coming out of the bed are useful. The peppermint is commonly known for helping to avoid leg pain during pregnancy, this is done through having a foot bathe. The woman should make sure not to have her legs crossed while sitting during the day. there are also some exercises like rotating one's ankle and it is very awesome in helping to avoid leg pain during pregnancy. Avoid high heeled shoes during pregnancy.

I went through this when I had my first son and it was so bad I had to call the doctor. He gave me calcium and I was fine. Great article.
