Products that replace tobacco habit are fast flooding the Indian markets!

Quit smoking and go for replacement therapies

Indian people all over the world are the heaviest smokers. A million of the Indian populace die out of tobacco habit, whilst tobacco claims 4.9 million annually across the globe. The alarming figure of deaths reflect the enormity of the usage of tobacco amongst Indians. This is the reason for anti-tobacco products hitting the shelves in various shapes and sizes and becoming very popular in India.
When a smoker suddenly gives up smoking, he experiences withdrawal systems that can lead to severe nicotine cravings. But if nicotine is provided at a moderate rate daily through products such as chewing gums, lozenges, gel cubes and patches, a certain nicotine level is maintained in the blood stream and this takes care of the addict’s cravings for tobacco. Then gradually, as the nicotine level in the bloodstream is reduced further, the addict no longer needs the product to help him along on the road to a life without tobacco. On questions being raised as to dozing a person with small amounts of nicotine as not being a model way to quit smoking, A brand Manager of a leading pharmaceutical company claimed otherwise “ We don’t trade one addiction with another” he said. “ Our products, which can come in any forms provide a controlled amount of nicotine to the system at a slower, less intense pace than cigarettes. And besides, it is a therapeutic form of nicotine, without any of the harmful toxins contained in tobacco like carcinogens and carbon monoxide. It is used for shorter periods and gradually reduced until the body no longer required more” he added without disclosing his name. There may be some evidence to suggest that these products do help in certain cases, however, some say that for these products to be really effective, they must not pass through the gastro-intestinal tract. Keeping this in mind, many companies have come up with products that do not pass the gastro-intestinal path. Many herbal products contain ingredients that are natural substitutes for nicotine.
Consumers should not be fooled into believing that these are magic pills that will enable them to quit smoking or using tobacco in no time at all. The problem has to be understood psychologically as to why is the person tempted to smoke and how he can kick the habit. At the end of the road there’s nothing like exercising your own will power to quit smoking. If you are unable to do that, perhaps a tobacco replacement product could come to your aid. Trust me – it will.

Good & sensible advice. I shared one of those electric cigarette things with my grandson New Year's Eve & quite liked it!
