When it comes to the color of stool you might just not be serious but hey wait a minute a sudden change in the stool color correspond a specific problem. Go through my article for an in-depth reason behind stool color.

Start watching your stool

Hey, I'm not kidding by asking you to start watching your stool color. I am serious and I have good reasons as well. A couple of year's back I had severe problems of Constipation and around those days going for a toilet was my biggest fear as I would end up with tears and my stool color would change on regular basis. I tried all the home remedies but nothing worked for me and finally I decided to see a doctor. I have a feeling that one should be aware about his/her disease, I mean if I am a patient of Epilepsy I got to have a good understanding about seizures and be able to recognize some sort of pre-seizure warnings given by the nervous system as it will give me some time to find a safe place for myself before actually experiencing a seizure. Similarly when I started to find reasons for stool color around the internet I came across with some useful information that helped me during that period and using the procedure described, change in eating habits and other necessities I was able to overcome that terrifying experience. I would like to share those information with you as well as u never know when your stool decides to betray you by changing it's color. So here I go.

1. A green colored stool indicates that the food we consume is moving to the large intestine way too quickly. It is due to the reason that bile does not get enough time to break down mostly during diarrhea. Green leafy vegetable as well as green food coloring like Popsicle and Iron supplements can also result in changing the color of stool to green.

2. If the color of stool is light white or clay colored we have to understand that this is due to the deficiency of bile in the stool. It may indicate a bile duct obstruction. At times a dose of medication like large dose of bismuth subsalicylate like Pepto Bismol and anti diarrheal drugs can also result in changing the color of stool to light white or clay color.

3. Black color stool indicates a bleeding in stomach or esophagus. At times medication used as iron supplements, bismuth and black licorine can also result in black colored stool.

4. Bright red colored stool is mostly due to the bleeding in rectum though it might also be associated with Beets, re-jell-O or kool-aid.

5. Orange color stool which is rarely seen. Medications containing beta-carotene (found occasionally in vitamin A) and Aluminium hydroxide found in antacids.
