Freedom does not mean the ability to indulge in our whims and fancies. It does not indeed refer to the ability to cater to all our worldly desires. Here's a deeper look at what it could really mean.

Seeing the unseen fetters

In dependence on man I lose freedom,
In dependence on God, I gain freedom,
In dependence on self, I lose freedom,
In dependence on Self, I gain freedom,
In dependence on love, I lose freedom,
In dependence on Love, I gain freedom,
In seeking for myself, I lose freedom,
In giving of myself I gain freedom,
O mind,
This day shall you promise, and forever keep,
This day may the start be, for goodness to reap,
This day may my faith hold strong,
This may my thoughts never go wrong,
This day may I lose misconception,
This day may begin my redemption,
This day may I lose what is not,
This day may I find what HE sought.
