Seeking Contentment

Our lives are filled with necessary daily tasks, that must be done, but are we overloading ourselves to the point of being discontented?

Finding a Balance to Reach Contentment

As human lives go we are constantly on the move, going here, going there. Work is a must in most cases, but then we have to go shopping, travel to the doctor's, to the dentist's office. The chidren, if we have any have to be taken to certain practices or dance classes. We have things that must be done to keep the flow of our family lives running smoothly.

But when all is said and done, are we content with the pace of things that go on in our lives? Are we satisfied more than dissatisfied with our lives as a whole. We can slow down the pace of some things, reschedule so that we are not so jammed up or crowded with appoinments and such. But is the general state of affairs in our lives leading us to contentment or are we dancing to someone else's music all the time?

What makes you happy? Have you taken the time to think about it? Or are you so busy doing things that have gotten to be routine and really do not know what makes you happy or at least content?

Take a moment or so to consider your life, you don't have to make major adjustments, maybe small ones to put your state of contentment in a better position if needed. Instead of in eighth place maybe put it in third place. Do things which make you happy sometimes, perhaps do something special just for you. See how it makes you feel. Now if your consideration for yourself is further away than tenth place, have a talk with yourself and rearrange a few things. Plan to have a "me day" every now and then. If you become more content and considerate of yourself, your health will improve more than likely, your mental state will certainly improve and you will be a more pleasant person to yourself and others. Let's try to be a little more content in the new year and in future years. Contentment is certainly a very good thing to have.

My philosophy too. It's no good wishing for what might have been, let's celebrate what we have got now.

So very true. And in contentment we look to help other, we are more tolerant and able to cope with rude people better. Such a lovely read, Mountain, really great article x
