Smoking is a pleasure for the smokers who does not know how their bodies are being damaged. It is their habit to smoke and enjoy the smoking in spite of the warning printed on the cigarette packet that smoking is injurious to health.Smoking causes harm to the body of the smoker. Those who are passive smoker are suffering a lot for this.

Introduction.

Stopping Smoking is a good sign in public places The chain smokers are under constraint not to smoke there. They try to find out a place where they can smoke at ease. If no suitable place is found out ,they have to restrain themselves from smoking. But that is not the way to force the smokers to give up smoking. Let us examine how the habit of smoking starts and develops. Generally those who are new to the smoking get cigarette from their friends who actually initiate the smoking. The friends start giving cigarettes to their new friends who initially object to receiving cigarettes from their friends. After several persuasion they take cigarettes and start smoking . along with their friends. A fear psychosis develops within the mind if he is caught red handed by the parents or elders of the family. They take every precaution so that they are not caught while smoking. . once the habit grows strongly, they shed the fear psychosis of being caught by the parents or elders of the family. Initially they enjoy continuous smoking at their sweet will with their friends in a secluded places . But subsequently they develop unwillingness to smoke when their guardians pressurize them to give up smoking. The chain smokers are not in a position to give up smoking if they desire to do so. The smoking habit can be given up if there is strong will power and mental strength possessed by the chain smoker. Serious health problem may force the smoker to stop smoking, failing which it may cause a serious concern to the health of the smoker ,leaving no time to attend to by the specialist doctors.

Importance of stopping smoking

Stopping Smoking is very important to health and mind. It is needless to say that smoking causes various health hazards ,causing oral cancer and cancer in the larynx, trachea and lungs. It causes serious heart problem ,leading to massive cardiac attack. It is really troublesome for the smoker to attend to the cardiologists who may , in turn , refer to the cardio-thoracic surgeons for operation. So smoking is a very bad habit if it is continued for years together . It is generally noticed that there are a few persons who continue smoking for more than twenty cigarettes per day. In spite of severe warning - smoking is injurious to health that the smokers can not shun their bad habit .Rather they encourage others to start smoking. If they start smoking, they go to the cigarette shops to purchase cigarettes on thei own . Cigarette smoking causes environmental pollution in the air. If they smoke at home ,causing disturbance to other inmates of the house. The other inmates of the house are termed as passive smokers who are also put to the troubles of the infection. Naturally smoking should be given up at home and outside the house. The Government of India and the state governments are constantly discouraging the citizen smokers not to smoke in public places which are totally prohibited from smoking and a fine of certain amount is imposed on the offenders,if detected found on smoking. This is a good idea which needs appreciation. The central government have raised the exercise duties which make the cigarettes costlier day to day.

Conclusion.

tIf there is strong will power and mental strength possessed by the chain smoker, giving up smoking is easy. Once given up , he should remain conscious not to take up again for smoking. He will feel better in health and mind. It is the strong will power that makes the habit smoke free. He can enjoy life without smoking. Everybody will appreciate this attempt and welcome you in their fold.

Great article with excellent advice.

The problem sometimes is ~ for some people ~ they have such a strong addiction to the nicotine that seem to need more than just will power.

Thanks for sharing.

In India, only men smoke and I was surprised to see women too smoke when I left its shores. That is indeed sad as it affects their health more.

The awareness is more among the youth in India of the dangers of smoking. I took a cab in Indonesia and was surprised to see many teenagers smoking by the roadside while still in school uniform. The driver had requested to wind down the window as he too wanted to smoke. I told him, why not cut down this habit. He said he does not mind dying young but wants to enjoy! siva

Thanks for supporting views. Smokers will not stop smoking unless compelled to do so on health grounds.
