The Greatest is Health

In most cases, we seldom appreciate health until when we temporary lose it to sickness. Then, do we realize that the greatest thing apart from life itself is good health and without it nothing else matters.

Health is Wealth

Frankly speaking, there is no earthly possession, no acquisition that is more important than good health. Without health, can anybody do or enjoy anything?, but often times, we take health for granted and rather would place as priority those things that are secondary and in themselves dependent on good health. The rat race has turned man into a machine that doesn't know just when to stop or take a break. We persistently pursue our short and long term goals in life without giving consideration to the 'engine', the body that drives the process. Unwittingly, we end up punishing the body and subjecting it to undue battering which at the long run carves in by breaking down leading to ill health and the suffering that follows.

When Sickness Comes Calling
In truth, one profound fact about sickness is that it avails one the opportunity to appraise with clarity of details what went on, on the stage of life prior to the ill health. It becomes an opportunity to see mistakes made, what was done that ought not to be done and vice versa. At this point, the reality of the two worlds is inescapable. The experience is like a purging process and it is at such moments that one comes to appreciate good health and would do anything to get back to normalcy.
There is no doubt that most of the ill health that plague us is man induced. We have to bear in mind, especially those who just would not stop or give themselves a break from their crowded schedule, that if we must continue to enjoy good health, we must consciously give undivided attention to our body at all times. We should also never forget that in life, the only thing we can boast of possessing is life itself and good health. We might lose everything we worked for in life and start rebuilding all over again, but when health is lost, all is lost.
