A person who genuinely wants to master themselves does it rather quietly, yet makes powerfully bold strokes to achieve mastery.

Meditation and Hypnosis

Meditation and hypnosis are both the same thing, in that they both center consciousness and direct it. Albeit, sometimes in the guise of sleep or lethargy, but, really they are the highest forms of mental control. Only hypnosis is more directly goal directed than meditation in that it is more specifically geared toward self-control and self-programming.

Meditation is more spiritual than hypnosis in that you want your mind to contact pure spiritual energy and pure spiritual power more than to achieve a direct goal. But both are good for centering and attention deficits. In fact, we can all consider hypnosis and meditation attention plus states. I simply recommend their practice.

No inductions here though, just a few words of advice for you

What I mean by the term attention plus above is to center and focus your mind to such an extent that you control it, and it does not control you, as with attention deficit disorder or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Also, I am saying, if you are not started on the path, now is a good place to start, from the "bottom", so to write. Because we all have to start somewhere if we genuinely want to evolve.

Self-Observation and Thinking Outside The Box

If you have a goal of genuinely controlling yourself, start by genuinely and intently observing yourself objectively and genuinely think outside of the box while doing it. Sure, it is easier said than done. Without mincing words, I know it is necessary for me to do to genuinely preserve my sanity. I am not going to use the words "keep my sanity", because they genuinely do not apply, but I use the words "preserve my sanity" because "normality" is nothing but a perception of reality, not a concrete term which applies to everything. After all, remembering yourself and then observing everything with an objective eye makes you more alert. The more you use it, the less you lose it.

The same goes for sanity, the saner you understand and feel you are, the saner you will be. This is where self-observation and self-understanding genuinely come in.

As for thinking outside of the box, creativity and paper list brainstorming productively is the most powerful abstract medium for bettering your conditions in life. I recommend the works of Roy Herbert Jarrett, "It Works" and "The Meaning Of The Miracle Marks Of Omar" for basic primers on these realities. But to jump into the more advanced aspects of this type of thing, get Henriette Anne Klauser's book "Write It Down, Make It Happen: Knowing What You Want and Getting It" or Carl Gustav Jung's "Man and His Symbols" and any basic Jungian Primer. Factually, you have to know what you genuinely want before you can get it. After all, you create the box by being outside of the box and assembling the box, and once the box is created you can put what you want into it.
