Proteins are essential elements for body building. The 20% of the human body is composed of protein. It is an integral part of all the body tissues and all the living cells that can be found in the muscles, organs, glands, blood cells, enzymes, hormones, antibodies, bones, teeth, skin, hair, nails and others.

The Uses of Protein Nutrients in Our Body

The human body needs different kinds of nutrients that are necessary for its growth, development and maintenance. Different nutrients have different functions and these nutrients provide different benefits in the human body.

These nutrients can be found from different food sources such as from the fruits and vegetables. Nutrients can also be get from different kinds of meat, poultry products, milk and sea foods. There are also nutrient that can be found in the natural sources such as the environment. An example of this is in the case of the Vitamin D which can be acquired from the sunlight.

There are different kinds of nutrients that are essential for our body’s health and one of these nutrients is the protein. Protein nutrient plays an important factor especially in the body building.

Proteins are complex organic compounds. They are composed of carbon, hydrogen oxygen and nitrogen.

Proteins are classified as essential, semi-essential and non-essential. Essential proteins are those that are needed to support life and growth, the semi-essential are those proteins that cannot support growth but are needed for maintaining life, the non-essential are those proteins that are considered as dispensable; those nutrients does not need to be present in the body since they can be synthesized naturally by the body.

Protein nutrients perform different functions in the body. These nutrients are utilized by the body for body building, for energy supply and for the regulation of some body processes.

Proteins are essential elements for body building. The 20% of the human body is composed of protein. Proteins are also important in the production of energy. Energy production is only a secondary rule of proteins since the energy that is utilized by the human body is largely produced from carbohydrates. Carbohydrate is considered as the main source of energy for the human body.
