Smoking kills, so why do we do it? but help is at hand to help you to quit

Nothing that is worth it is easy

Do you smoke? I stopped smoking over 40 years ago and have never regretted it

But don't let anyone tell you it is easy to give it up

The facts speak for themselfs

Did you know that over five hundred million (500,000,000) people alive today will die of smoking

Don't waste your life

So it is worth giving it up, It is a fact that ammonia is added to cigarettes to make them more addictive, but you CAN beat it and the longer you stop smoking the easier it gets.

Sigmund Freud's doctor assisted his suicide because of oral cancer caused by smoking

The painting is Skull with a Burning Cigarette by Vincent van Gogh, oil on canvas, 1885.

In a weeks time it will be Stoptober that's the same as October but without cigarettes, have a go, take out cigarettes from your life and you will be able to put more into it

Well I am smoking hot but never smoked in my life although I am a granddaughter of a smoker.
He lost his teeth at 35 and later in life died with Broncho-pneumonia two days short of his 75th Birthday in Bromley Hospital, UK. I was there with him at his passing in 1987.

Great thoughts. I finally quit smoking after trying hypnosis and it worked because it is a hard habit to break. It is nice to live longer and smell better because I quit smoking!

I smoke not more than 4 fags a day. I'm 75 and I am not planning to quit. Fags give me inspiration to write.

Many people, even if they are aware of the bad effects of smoking do not give it up.

I too quit smoking after I fell sick. I do not miss my cigarettes though I am still fond of my smoking days. Crazy!

It cannot be said enough or stressed enough, so ... thank you for putting it out there.
When addicts quit their addictions, they often leave a loophole; this makes it possible to stop for 6 months or a year or whatever is necessary to fulfill some obligation ... and then, they start again.
So, when I quit smoking, I told myself 'if I make it to 80, I'll start smoking again. Meanwhile, it's nice to have a sense of smell again.

I have been thinking about stopping smoking. Actually, I been thinking that for almost fifty years. I'll let you know what I decide.

Maybe we should follow Mark Twain how to kick the habit "Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world. I know because I've done it thousands of times."

I was sad to see in Indonesia schoolboys smoking and with the attitude of adults - enjoy and die young! Thanks Johnnydod for this insight - siva

Never smoked... but both my parents did ..the amount of second hand smoke I inhaled back then ,in this more "aware time" is most alarming, it should give parents today pause and....motivation for stopping...
