Turmeric has medicinal properties. It is anti inflammatory and has the power to absorb pain. It works as a good antiseptic.

Turmeric for wounds

If you child or any adult falls and gets a wound or gets a cut or has swelling then follow this method for instant relief:
1. Heat one and half teaspoon of mustard oil in a small pan or a ladle like heavy table spoon on the gas burner.
2. Add two or three teaspoons of turmeric powder to the mustard oil that is heating. Simply mix the turmeric powder in the hot oil. The turmeric should bubble a bit. Turn off the gas burner.
3. Let the gooey mixture cool a bit but it should be warm. Then apply this gooey paste on the wound. Take a good amount of cotton make a pad out of it and apply the leftover turmeric paste on the cotton and then seal it on the wound. Wrap a bandage around it to secure the cotton pad on the wound.
4. You can leave the bandage tied whole day long or even overnight.

NOTE: IT CAN BE MESSY AND LEAVE YELLOW STAINS OF TURMERIC ON THE FABRIC BUT IT IS SURE TO HEAL THE WOUND AND BRING DOWN THE SWELLING. WASH THE STAINED FABRIC THE NEXT DAY AND DRY IN SUN. THE YELLOW TURMERIC STAIN ONCE WASHED WILL TURN RED BUT WILL EVENTUALLY FADE AWAY IN ONE OR TWO WASH.YOU CAN DISCARD THE COTTON PAD ONCE YOU FEEL BETTER. REPEAT THE PROCESS IF THE WOUND IS CURING BUT IF THE WOUND IS DEEP THEN VISIT A DOCTOR.
