Walking Improves Overall Wellbeing

Circumstances would have me walking virtually everywhere I go since I sold my vehicle and do not have anyone here that I can consistently rely on. It was difficult at first, but now I am noticing benefits I didn't realize back when I would walk miles each day.

Teen Years

Entering into my teen years I gained weight and it was difficult to get it back off. I found myself reducing what I ate to a drastic point and walking several miles each day just to make up for the calories that I had consumed that day. I achieved my goal of being thin and maintained it for several years. I was thin when I met my first husband at age nineteen but after the divorce I found that my boyfriend did not like me to gain even a few pounds. A couple more marriages, a couple kids and the rollercoaster of weight gain and loss began.

Arkansas Weight Gain
We moved to Arkansas during March of 2014, since that time I have been gaining at least a pound a month or more for no apparent reason. I gained back all the weight I had lost when we moved to the mountain as a result of the stress being reduced.

Now I am attempting to lose the weight.

Bit of Good News

In September, I had an appointment where I found out that I had lost almost four pounds in a few weeks time. I have another appointment coming up soon where I hope to get the same type of good news. I just hope it is more than a few pounds because I walk approximately six miles each week.

Walking Benefits
My energy levels and endurance have both increased since I started this walking regimen. I can feel my clothes getting looser which means that soon I will fit back into clothes that I bought last year.

My sleep is better at night even with my large caffeine consumption, which is now without creamer or sugar to prevent consuming all of my calories through liquid consumption.

Conclusion

Not only am I feeling better, my clothes fit better and I am noticing my leg muscles returning. In recent years, my legs which I once prided myself on where turning into flab, now they are once again something I am willing to show off.

End Goal
I want to be healthier for my little girl. My boyfriend is nine years younger than I am and I have every intention of growing old with him. Being healthy will help achieve that goal. I intend to get down to the weight I am actually supposed to be so that I live a longer, healthier life with the ones that I love.

I have always had jobs that involve a lot of walking but I like to walk when at home too.
