Ways to Increase Your Happiness

Being happy is better then being sad. It has ben scientifically proven that happy people will live longer and have a healthier life. With that being said, you can live a happier life as well, below are a list of tips that will help you give you a boost in the happiness department.

Work Less
People that call Denmark home are among the happiest people living in the world, according to the United Nations World Happiness Report. This is so because they work less, you read correctly, the Danes work less. If you are lucky to call Denmark home you can you enjoy a 33 hour work week. Individuals in Denmark that work 40 or more hours a week is only 2%.

This is another thing the Danish are good at, the experience is more important then things. Reseacrch has proven that people who enjoy the experience will continue do so even when the experience is long gone. When humans focus on things (such as technological devices) we tend to send less time paying attention to the experience. In additon, people who enjoy the experience will have a enjoy life more and have a betrer mental connection with people you see on a regular basis.

Be Social

Scientist have proven that you can llve a longer life just by being social. This is done because our telemeres (a tiny cap on our DNA chromosomes) will get stronger. If we are more socialalbe our telemeres will become stronger and our live maybe as well. Id we have just one good friend we could easily reduce depression, health problems, stress, and most importantly your health.

Give Back

People who donate their time to a charitable cause maybe happier then those who do do not give back. Denmarks citizens are known for their generousity to their communities. The United Nations credit volunteering as one factor that the Danes have a high happiness rate. 43% of the Danish set aside time to volunteer.

In 2012 a study was done that involved toddlers. In the study, two groups of
toddlers were given a snack and one group was told to give their snack away. The group that gave their snack away was happier, the act of kindness because made them feel good.

In closing, performing an act of kindness will improve your happiness because you will have a better sense of your community, purpose, and self-image.
