Life can be hard and trying. But trials come that we may learn from them and grow. This is what I learned from brain surgery.

What I Learned from brain Surgery

When I was 17, I got really sick. I had severe dizziness and headaches and I really couldn't function at all. My pediatrician was beyond wonderful and did everything she could to find out what was wrong. At first they were thinking meningitis, then encephalitis, or maybe a spinal issue. Well, after an MRI they found out I had what is called a Chiari Malformation. To sum it up, my brain was too big. It was pushing on my spine causing serious pain and I needed to get surgery.
Now I'm the type of girl who hasn't even broken a bone, let alone have surgery! So, I wasn't prepared at all. But boy, was I ready to feel better. So after appointments and blood work and tests and more appointments, I finally had surgery. It went perfectly, all was well, then I got home
I can't even begin to explain the pain I was in. Recovering from this type of surgery is extremely painful. I was on a dozen of medications, narcotics, steroids, etc. It was pretty awful. But I know I would not be the person I am today without it, and I am so grateful for all I've learned from my experience.
Trials are blessings in disguise. This is a fact. You will learn, grow, and discover the most when times are hard. Here are some things I learned.
- God is real
- He knows us individually
- He knows our struggles
- Family is key
- Let others help you
- Your trial is giving others opportunities to serve
- Your experience strengthens countless others
- Life is short and can be done in an instant
- Very few things are truly important in this world and they are usually overlooked
- It is GOOD to be humble
- Having trials doesn't mean you're a bad person, it means you are stronger than most
- Your true potential can always increase
- ALWAYS PRAY
- ALWAYS LOVE
- ALWAYS HOPE

God bless you all <3

Fine piece. I can understand why you are so thankful to God. In a lighter vein, you had a big brain. I thought it is something every person wishes for.
