Rheumatism or Rheumatic fever is caused commonly in the crowd .

Reasons for Rheumatism -

Previously it was thought that the disease arises from hypothermia, but now it is recognized as an erroneous view. Most commonly this disease is caused in institutions with large concentrations of people (for example, in military barracks or in boarding schools in adolescents), where people are closely in contact with each other.

There were cases of so-called family of rheumatism. The disease occured for many years in several different generations . It is accompanied by many diseases. Most often, the disease is preceded by angina or acute respiratory disease caused by hemolytic streptococcus group A . Rheumatism was confirmed by laboratory tests in patients .
Disease is diagnosed by Sokolsky - Buyo where they studied high concentrations of blood particles and different antibodies.

Rheumatism mechanism is not fully understood. We only know that the basis of the disease are autoimmune processes.

That is, streptococcal antigen is responsible for the hyper-immune response and for the formation of specific antibodies which destroy their own connective tissues.

The process takes place in three stages:
-mucoid tissue swelling (reversible stage),
-fibrinoid changes fibers ending necrosis (irreversible stage) and
-the formation of granulomas around particular foci of necrosis, consisting of fibroblasts, lymphocytes, mast cells (giant in the myocardium) and Aschoff cells.
So, this is all about the Reasons for Rheumatism .
