Eight types of examinations

The eight types of examinations are:1) Pulse study, 2) Tongue test, 3) Eye diagnosis, 4) Touch diagnosis 5) Voice diagnosis, 6) General appearance test, 7) Urine test and 8) Face study.

The examinations reveal the imbalance condition in Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
In this article only tongue diagnosis is taken as the subject.

Tongue diagnosis or Jhiva Pariksha is one of the eight types of examinations to be performed to diagnose the condition of a disease.

Indications of tongue diagnosis

This tongue test examines the size, color, coating, and moisture on the tongue.

If the tongue appears small in size, pale in color and with brown coating, it is an indication of Vata imbalance.

If the tongue is average in size, reddish in color, with yellow coating and with a tendency to dryness, it is an indication of Pitta excess.

If the tongue is large and pale, with a moist and whitish coating, it indicates the imbalance of Kapha.

After confirming the condition of the three humors through other tests, the physician will begin the treatment to correct the imbalance.

VPaulose, you didn't explain the three imbalances. I got thoroughly confused when I tried to remember them :)
