Why do we hate ourselves sometimes?

What was learned when I took off on a quest to cleave the spiritual 'me' from the rest in order to observe it's purity. A journey into the reasons for self loathing.

Intentional Healing Journey

Following years of 'fight or flight' stress, I rented my house in town to a nice couple with kids and in turn, a little cabin in Lower Stanley, Idaho. It was cool because I could transfer my phone from Boise and run my customer service follow-up business with a phone and laptop that Summer. Only eleven miles north is Sunbeam Hot Springs and I made it a point to visit for a few hours and soak every other day, grateful to myself for allowing this time for healing.

Big Quests and Questions

My goal was to find some way to find the spiritual 'me' and separate it from the human 'me'. Time and consideration proved that the result of this quest could only have one end, so I opted to consider something else. All the while, the answers to still unformed questions was quietly sitting in a book that had made it into the small loaded adventuresome Volvo Wagon.

We cozied in for the Summer. 'We' including Harry and Lucy my unconditional love sources and Simon, an adventurous black cat.

Samuel's Words

Apparently, Mark Twain had written a series of essays and letters which were too controversial to print at the time of his living, and his 80+ year old daughter saw fit to publish them in the 70's. The book title is 'Letters from the Earth'. In his essay, 'The Damned Human Race', Twain writes of the many atrocities which are within the capacity of the human condition that are not shared by any other species.

Awareness Moving Forward

I realized that it was this history of the human condition, in which I occupied, that made me hate myself for being a member. So many steps forward, so many steps back, I now embrace my humanity as a condition in a state of evolution. Evolution which is created and co-created. Let us go forward and create a human condition so wonderful that our past is but a spot on the sun of our legacy.

Indeed humans can fall into some traps in their life, some of which are traps we make for ourselves.

We lose ourselves in the past - mostly the hurts - and worry about the future while live blissfully ignorant of the precious present! Thanks for the share, LoriAnne - siva

I agree with Siva and Mark here LoriAnne, so I turn to my Saviour .The Lord who heals me of my past , helps me in the present , and reassures me I will be safe with Him in the future . I can't lose .
God bless you
