World's most ancient and oldest healing system - Ayurveda

Ayurveda basically stands for the "Veda of Healing". Ayurvedic healing system has its roots from India. It doesn’t offer common treatment forms for a specific ailment.An Ayurvedic practitioner specifically has to evaluate and examine every patient individually before he can come up with his treatments, and this can vary from certain dietary alterations to particular herbal treatments and specific exercises that can be practiced for both body and mind.

Meaning of Ayurveda:

Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word, which is a combination of two separate words - "Ayus" meaning "Long Life" and "Veda" meaning science or knowledge. In union, the two words in "Ayurveda" become "The science of Life". The word "Ayu" is also considered to be a combined representation of body, mind and soul, according to ‘Charaka’ - an ancient scholar in Ayurveda.

Ayurvedic Healing system essentially makes use of the inherent and self-sustaining attributes and principles provided by the nature to facilitate you in attaining good health and balance in body, mind and soul. Apart from offering healing to the complete body system, Ayurveda also provides spiritual healing of varied forms in order to get balance in life.

Ayurveda is said to be the oldest and most ancient healing system in the world. It has a complicated medical design, which got its origin in India around thousands of years back. Lots of Hindu scriptures such as Vedas and other ancient books have mentioned the fundamentals of Ayurveda in them. One of the four Vedas - Rig Veda, an ancient scripture, which was written some 6000 years ago contains numerous prescriptions, which can assist humans in prevention of many ailments and diseases.
