How To Live A Healthy Life


Food is anything you eat which adds value to the body. It is made up of different materials; the most important of these are called NUTRIENTS. These nutrients are a combination that makes up the food / meal.
A daily meal that contains all nutrients in adequate amounts for a particular person or a group of people at a particular time known as a BALANCED DIET. Nutrients include protein, fat, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins. Having good health means having a good state of physical.
Mental and moral well-being, to be in good health, we need to feed well i.e. to eat balanced diet. Nutrients can be divided into following groups according to their functions.
1) Protein: It needed in our body for growth; it repairs blood, hormone production and also help to strengthen inner part of the body and increase anti-bacterial in the body. It is obtained from;
i. Animal Sources: Beef, Snail, Crabs, Fish, Prawns and poultry eggs. Good enough to eat all these proteins that can help and keep the body healthy. It will also boost your immune system, fight infections relief hepatitis and protect cardiovascular system.
ii. Plants Sources: Through plant sources, we can derived good protein that can help body growth and boost our immune system, such as; Cereal, beans, peas, melon seed, groundnuts, soya-bean, peanut, locust beans. Animal protein sources have better quality, thus more important in our diets.
2) Fat: Fat can be obtained from the following items such as; butter, margarine, oils, seeds, nuts, cheese, milk and fried foods. But abstain from too much fried foods, for it can cause many things and affect your body i.e. in fried foods, you might have fried all the protein that suppose to keep your body healthy, also, too much of fat may affect you even lead to obesity that can give you bad shape you have not desire.
3) Carbohydrates: It is obtained from yams, Irish potatoes, Maize wheat, plantain, fruits, milk, rice, cassava and sugary foods like soft drinks. Here is another bull’s-eyes, do not be greedy or be covetous about the soft drinks, too much of it is silent killer and can cause you excess fat or weight that will not give you steady movement. Fat carbohydrates are needed to carry out bodily functions at rest, and for day-to-day physical activities.
4) Minerals: This is needed for formation of certain solid structures and fluid in the body (bones and teeth formation). Iron is needed for blood formation. Minerals are got from animal and plant source like liver, kidney, green leafy vegetables and flour. Likewise fast food at eatery regular is not good to our health especially too much of flour such as meat pie, bread, pizza and doughnut etc
5) Vitamins: Vitamin A, B complex, C, D, E and K are required in small quantities for metabolism. They are got from animal and plant. After discussing nutrients and their sources, we can now see that whoever eat a meal comprising all these nutrients will definitely be free of diseases (spend little to nothing on drugs) and will live a healthy life. A lot of water will also be of help for flow of blood in the vain.
Example of 24 Hours Balance Diet.
•Breakfast: Custard + bean + an orange, banana or any available fruit / tea, bread + fried egg.
•Lunch: Semolina + vegetable with fish or meat + water.
•Dinner: Cooked beans + fried plantain / Rice + plantain and vegetable or stew + water. Your health is wealth.
